MISSION

Create a brave space in a beautiful and inspiring natural environment where Black men can deepen their personal and artistic practices, unlock pathways to manifest their creative visions and achieve measurable successes.

BAR inaugural Wellness Day

 

BAR is committed to supporting and promoting the wellbeing and work of Black, male-identified artists and leaders in the following disciplines:

Filmmaking

Theatre/Performance

Music

Visual art

Literature

Advocacy

Our ultimate goal is expanding narratives and ideas of who Black men are and how they get to exist in the world. We will accomplish this through programming that invests in artists and leaders engaged in work that speaks to that goal. BAR Programs include:

  • retreats and residencies

  • showcases and exhibitions of artist’s work

  • fireside chats

  • wellness and creative workshops

  • community building and networking opportunities

  • outdoor activities and nature immersion
